All-rounder Salman Agha was introduced as Pakistan’s T20I skipper for the upcoming tour to New Zealand on Tuesday.
“It’s a great honour and also a challenge. in T20s, it’s a youngster-oriented team. We want to improve our approach and intent. We want to adapt to the changing nature of the format till the World Cup. We want to play fearless cricket,” mentioned Agha.
Senior batters Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan have been omitted from the T20I squad. Talking on their exclusion, Pakistan coach Aaqib Javed mentioned: “The style of play and mindset needs to change. That’s why we got a young team”
Wicket-keeper batter Rizwan will proceed to captain Pakistan’s ODI facet, regardless of failing to guide the workforce to a win in Champions Trophy 2025.
